Over the last month, I have spoke about where you can find WordPress help when you need it. I have also spoke about the power of the WordPress codex.
In today’s article, I would like to share with you some good WordPress related blogs and websites that publish useful WordPress tutorials. All tutorial websites listed in this article can be viewed free of charge 🙂
The WordPress Lessons area of the codex has many great tutorials on how to use WordPress. There are also articles on styling your WordPress theme and developing themes and plugins. Some of the articles are a little dated, however they remain relevant.

WordPress Lessons is a good starting point to understand WordPress and WordPress themes a little better.
In addition to offering great courses and books, Tuts Plus has a great WordPress tutorial section that is updated every few days. The quality of articles are very high, with most tutorials being split into several sections due to their length.
I recommend Tuts Plus to anyone who wants to know more about developing WordPress themes and plugins.

Most Tuts Plus articles are geared towards intermediate and advanced WordPress users.
If you have ever searched for a WordPress related problem, you will have come across an article by WP Beginner. Their blog tackles common WordPress problems on a daily basis. They also publish in-depth tutorials every week.
Their tutorials mostly function on practical solutions such as disabling the admin bar, configuring a particular plugin, or making your website more secure.

WP Beginner has over a thousand useful tutorials.
Pippin Williamson is well known for creating top plugins such as Better Recent Posts Pro and Easy Digital Downloads. He is also one of the few plugin developers who blogs regularly.
Each tutorial contains a detailed breakdown of how something works and how you can integrate the code into your website. Tutorials are categorized in a sensible way too. You can browse articles by beginner, intermediate, or advanced user level. There are also video tutorials and series of tutorials that tackle a common topic.

Pippin’s tutorials are well structured and easy to follow.
WPMU Dev update their blog with useful tutorials twice a week. Tutorials tend to be geared more towards beginner and intermedia users, though they feature advanced tutorials from time to time.

WP Hub is a WordPress blog that publishes tutorials every month. The difficulty level of tutorials is usually beginner or intermediate, however technical subjects are covered from time to time.

WP Hub contains hundreds of tutorials.
Smashing Magazine is one of the most popular design websites online. They have released many great free WordPress themes over the years, such as Spectacular and Frank.
Intermedia and advanced WordPress tutorials are featured on the website; however tutorials are only published every month or two.

iThemes has a huge archive of video tutorials. A lot of their videos focus on how to customize their own products, however there are also great tutorials on customizing WordPress and styling a website using CSS.

LevelUp is another website that offers great video tutorials. It currently offers thirty four WordPress related tutorials.
It also offers video tutorials on HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Drupal, Magnento, and many more.

LevelUp offers hundreds of video tutorials on a variety of subjects.
WP Squared is a WordPress blog that is run by my friends Sam and Kevin. Their tutorials usually focus on configuring plugins and themes for your website. Their guides are always well written and easy to follow.

WP Squared publish practical guides for WordPress users.
Known for their dashboard service, ManageWP also have a blog that is updated regularly. Like WP Squared, the ManageWP blog does not offer any technical tutorials. They mainly focus on guides for plugins, themes, and services.

ManageWP publishes practical tutorials every month.
I was initially hesitant to include Justin Tadlock’s blog in this list as he has not published a tutorial for several months. However, he has a large archive of tutorials that plugin and theme developers will find useful. He also continues to update his blog every month, therefore there is a chance he may publish more articles in the future.

Plugin and theme developers will love Justin Tadlock’s technical tutorials.
